Schools for orphans and street children.

Helping orphans and street children build a better future for themselves, as well as the community, is one of our primary goals.

MIBOS built a school in the Kigoma-Ujiji Municipality in 2000 and has been running it ever since. This school has about 40 children.

We have also received a parcel of land from the government on which we shall build a Health Center and school buildings, large enough for several hundred children. This facility will include a Primary school, a Secondary school and a Vocational Training Center. Depending on the donations, we hope to start building this multi-use center, in partnership with Engineers without Borders, within the next 2-3 years.

The Fight Against Illiteracy

We also run adult education sessions in the fight against illiteracy and ignorance. In Tanzania half the population has completed primary school, while 34% of the women and 28% of the men have only some primary school or have no education at all.

Plans are underway to expand this project into a fully-fledged education of drug addicts and alcoholics through training in business and practical skills for descent caring and self-reliance. We have secured land for expansion and construction of this project.

Adult Education

Through the support of The Foundation for Civil Society, MIBOS conducts Public Education sessions on various topics, one of them being "Land Rights with a Gender Perspective" for the community members.
